Things You'll Need:
- Auto Insurance
-
Step 1
1. After the damage is done, contact your Auto Insurance Company.
-
Step 2
2. You will be asked to obtain an estimate from an auto body repair shop or the insurance company will schedule an appointment for an adjuster to determine the extent of damage done to your car—giving you an estimate the insurance company will pay to have your car repaired.
-
Step 3
3. You have a choice to have the check made out to the auto body repair shop or to your car’s lien holder (if applicable).
If choosing the lien holder option,
+ The insurance company will send you a check made out to your lien holder—depending on your insurance company’s procedure.
+ You deposit your check in an account with your lien holder.
+ You find a reputable auto body repair company to fix your hail damage.
+ The auto body repair company issues you an invoice to take to your lien holder after your car has been repaired.
+ Your lien holder cuts a check for you to pay the auto body repair shop. -
Step 4
4. VIOLA! Your car should be as good as new—or at least the chicken pox dents should be gone.
