Clean your home the eco friendly way, with things from around the house

In these hard times we are all looking for ways to save money, here are some tips for cleaning with things you have around your home. Not to mention it is eco friendly!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    * Baking Soda and Water:
    Can be used for Counter Tops, Stainless Steel Sinks, Cutting Boards, Containers, Refrigerators and Oven Tops
    Sprinkle baking soda then scrub with a damp cloth. If you have stains, knead the baking soda and water into a paste and let set for 10 mins before you remove.

  2. Step 2

    * Lemon:
    Glass Table Tops- Rub a little lemon juice on the top, then dry with papertowel.
    Counter Tops/Cutting Boards- Rub with lemon juice let sit for a couple minutes (a couple hours if stain is really bad) and wipe clean.
    Microwave- Put half a lemon in a three quarters full bowl of cold water and cook on high in microwave for 3 minutes. The condensation from the steam loosens dirt and makes it easy to wipe down, also smells good.
    Furniture Polish- Mix a teaspoon of lemon juice with a glass of vegetable oil.

  3. Step 3

    * Vinegar:
    Counter Tops- Fill a spray bottle with equal parts white vinegar and distilled water, add a squeze of lemon juice to temper the vinegar smell.
    Dishwasher- Fill a cup with white vinegar and place it on the top rack of dishwasher, run the dishwasher with nothing else in it. This will remove soap film and deodorize.
    Windows- mix 2 tablespoons of white vinegar with a gallon of water and dispense into a used spray bottle. Spray on window then scrub with newspaper.

  4. Step 4

    * Kosher Salt and Water:
    For Sinks and Cast Iron Pans- sprinkle on salt and scrub with wet cloth.

  5. Step 5

    * Ketchup:
    For Copper pots- dab ketchup onto dirty areas and let sit ofr 15 mins before rinsing off, and they will once again shine.
