Know what you need! Will you be using this as your primary computer? Most people buy laptops to supplement there Desktop PC's, If you fall into this category, a basic laptop would be for you. If you plan on doing a lot with games and videos it will be more important to have a faster processor and memory as well as more memory. If you just plan on going online and writing papers for school it would be fine to get a laptop that has under 1 GHz processor and 256 MB RAM. Use Ebay. I know Ebay may seam a little shifty, but if you check your sellers rating, the higher positive rating they have, the better. As long as they have very few bad ratings (my suggestion is to read only the bad ratings first, this will give you an idea of the problems associated with them) and then reading a few good ratings before placing a bid. Many sellers who have a high rating that sell laptops will be willing to offer assistance and send you a replacement if you receive your laptop DOA (Dead On Arrival)! Just be sure to research other sites such as dickerdeals.com to know what a good price will be and don't bid over that price!
