Avoid Morning Sickness During Pregnancy

Being pregnant is such a joy, but morning sickness definitely is not. Here are some tips to try to avoid being miserable with morning sickness.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Eat crackers when feeling nauseas. These usually work great. They are very easy to digest and can be thrown right in your purse!

  2. Step 2

When nausea first occurs, a few potato chips might help.

  3. Step 3

Drink 8 glasses of water a day. Dehydration can lead to an upset stomach!

  4. Step 4

Eat five or six small meals in a day, rather than 3 big meals. Sometimes when you are hungry you begin to feel nauseas.

  5. Step 5

Eat protein rich food, such as peanut butter, nuts and dairy products. These are known to keep morning sickness away!

  6. Step 6

Eat lots of carbohydrates - breads, pasta, potatoes. Starches are easy to digest!

  7. Step 7

Don't smell! (Easier said than done, right??) During pregnancy many different scents can make you nauseas. Avoid these scents!

  8. Step 8

Don't move too quick. Sudden position changes, like standing up too quick or getting out of bed too fast, can lead to nausea. Lay in bed for a few minutes before hopping out in the morning!

  9. Step 9

Avoid spicy foods. Stick with bland - this will work best!

  10. Step 10

Take a walk. Sometimes a little bit of exercise can make you feel so much better!
