Have you wasted countless minutes look for missing socks? Do you often hand your children similar socks, and hope that no one notices they do not match? From dress socks to tube socks, you may not truly realize how many pairs of socks you actually own.

Through washings, folding, and putting your socks away many may be missing, or simply shoved away in a drawer. Have you given up on finding some matches, and simply purchased new socks ? If you are tired of fumbling through your drawers in the mornings looking for your favorite pair of trouser socks, or athletic socks here are some tips to help you organize your socks.

Step 1

Keeping socks together begins as soon as you take them off. Fold over the tops of each pair of socks as you place them into the dirty clothes hamper. Keeping each pair together is a great way to ensure they are washed at the same time.
Step 2

Use what you have on hand to keep the socks together while they wash. You could use a lingerie mesh garment bag during the wash. A great tool that you could purchase is the Sock Pro. It is a small pieces of plastic that covers each pair of socks while it washes and dries.
Step 3

After your socks have been washed and dried, fold them together while you are folding the laundry.
Step 4

Place your socks in sock dividers. Many times it is a chore to dig through numerous pairs of socks to find the one you are looking for. Purchase plastic or wooden sock dividers and organize your socks by color or type.

Tips & Warnings

Putting away paired socks, can save you money on replacing socks you already have.
Buy athletic socks all in the same color and style.
Let each child have their own sock style or color.
Purchase dress socks and trouser socks at the end of season sales, to ensure you always have a nice pair on hand.
