Do you think Linux is too difficult to use? Do you want to try Linux, but don't want to download a large installation? You can get a really small linux and use it right on your desktop! Yes! It only takes a really small download with Sun Virtual Box!

I use Damn Small Linux and it's only about 50mb for the download. You can add it to a pen drive too. It would be great for an older pc if you know how to install it on a bare small hard drive. What I am going to show you is easier than installing it on an old small drive.

Damn Small Linux is a small hybrid of Minix/Knoppix. It has a whole suite of different applications and it's as customizable as any other operating system.
If you want to run Linux. If you are curious about how to use it. Try this small distro.

I use Sun's Virtual Box for virtual hard drives. I know that Microsoft has a Virtual Machine, but Sun's Virtual Box is smaller and runs faster. Sun Microsystems offers alot of good tools for computer users. They are free to use and to distribute unlike Microsoft items.

When you start using Virtual Box, you can also experiment with other small operating systems. You might enjoy another hobby of being a novice "programmer"! I find Linux really a cool idea, and I hope that more will be put into the GNU production. Computers are being thrown away every single day with nothing hardly wrong with them. People rid them because they are just old. Imagine how you can reuse those old computers with Opensource software.

Damn Small Linux is a smaller type of Linux with lots of capabilities that some don't have. Some older people who are stuck in the 90's and love older operating systems would feel right at home on Damn Small Linux.

Let's get started on Damn Small Linux on your Desktop Windows XP/Vista/7 system. It only take a few minutes to get this damn thing started!!!
