Plant a Apple Tree

In this article will find how to properly set out a apple tree. Apple trees are good for the beauty in the spring and for shade in the summer and good for food.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a shovel
  • a apple tree
  • water
  • mulch or base protector
  1. Step 1

You will need to pick your tree. Try to make sure it has good roots and at least a year old. Dig the hole bigger than the roots so it doesn't get root bound.

  2. Step 2

Put the tree in the hole making sure you have the tree up straight. You drive the stake into the ground than tie the string to the tee to the stake and this will hold your tree up straight. Pour some water in over the tree.

  3. Step 3

Use the shovel to put the dirt over the roots of the tree making sure there are no clumps of dirt or no air bubbles

  4. Step 4

After you have the dirt firmly over the roots pour a little more water. Then put the mulch or base protector are if you'd like you can use both.

Tips & Warnings
  • you may want to wear gloves
  • be sure to keep your tree watered and fertilized
