You will learn how to give a good basic foot massage from a professional.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Massage oil, cream or any commercial foot cream.
  • A willing client.
  • A hand towel.
  1. Step 1

Have your client lie down on a bed, couch or another comfortable place.

  2. Step 2

Place your clients feet on a towel covered pillow or in your lap.

  3. Step 3

Squeeze a quarter size amount of massage oil or cream into your palm and rub palms together. Use more or less as needed.

  4. Step 4

Start by taking each hand and placing one on either side of your clients foot.

  5. Step 5

Squeeze both sides of the foot with both hands, working from the bottom up, like you are squeezing a large tube of toothpaste. Repeat 3 times and switch to the other foot.

  6. Step 6

Beginning with the little toe, take each toe between your thumb and forefinger and twist from the bottom of the toe to the tip. Repeat on the other foot.

  7. Step 7

Supporting the heel of your clients foot in one hand, use the other hand to press your palm into the heel of your clients foot. Use a circular motion to work from the heel to the pad of the foot and back. Repeat 3 times. Do the same to the other foot.

  8. Step 8

To massage the top side of your clients foot, place both of your thumbs at the base of their toes and make little circles with your thumbs. Repeat all over the top of your clients foot up to the ankle. Repeat on the other foot.

  9. Step 9

    Finish by repeating step 5.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to start with lighter pressure and gradually get firmer.
  • Ask your client if the pressure feels right.
  • You may use the hand towel to dry off your clients feet, if needed.
  • Enjoy!
