If you are standing in line, then you join the millions of people who are also standing in line. They say we spend an average of 3 hours a week standing in lines and if we just stand there and don't do anything, that would be wasted time. So next time you are standing in a line, consider what steps you can do to be successful. Here's how!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consider picking up the phone and dialing those numbers of folks who are waiting to return your calls or catch up on family matter. It makes your time in line go much faster and brings those items you usually don't get done accomplished.

  2. Step 2

Buy yourself a cell phone that has Internet access. While waiting, pop on the Internet to surf the web or just return emails. This simple action doesn't need to be long winded, they just need to be accomplished.

  3. Step 3

Consider writing those lists of items to be done. It could be the grocery store list or ideas on a new project, but those lists usually don't get done otherwise.

  4. Step 4

If you are waiting in line, consider bringing some reading material to catch up on. It could be physical papers or just online, but if you need to read for the job or just to relax, waiting in line is perfect timing.

  5. Step 5

Bring a friend and get the chance to chit chat while waiting in line. It sounds silly, but if you get the chance to really communicate then the chance is worth the line.
