Snow cones are fun and enjoyable treats! They can be enjoyed not only on a hot summer day but also on a cold winter day. The list of available snow cone flavors is endless. If you can dream up a flavor it can be put on a snow cone! Learn an easy way to make snow cones if you do not have a snow cone maker or heavy duty blender. This is a very easy recipe!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ice
  • Ziploc bags
  • Heavy duty plastic cup
  • Favorite snow cone flavors/syrups
  • Cups
  • Large spoon
  • Small spoons
  1. Step 1

    Place ice into a Ziploc bag. Make sure the Ziploc bag is securely fastened so that the ice will not escape or fall out from the bag.

  2. Step 2

    Use the heavy duty plastic cup to crush the ice into small pieces. There are different techniques that can be used. Roll the cup with a a lot of force on top of the ice. Also, mash the ice with quick, swift motions.

  3. Step 3

    Keep mashing the ice until the ice is in very small pieces. If you like larger pieces of ice then stop smashing the ice when it reaches the size you want.

  4. Step 4

    Open up the Ziploc bag and scoop up the ice with the large spoon. Place the ice into the cups.

  5. Step 5

    Pour your favorite flavor or syrup on top of your snow cone. Suggested flavors include: root beer, cherry Kool Aid, Welch's grape juice, orange juice, and Hi-C.

Tips & Warnings
  • This is a great after school snack for children.
