Things You'll Need:
- Access to county arrest records database (see resources below)
-
Step 1
First is to access a county arrest records database. Most counties are making these resources available electronically, which means you no longer have to dig through file boxes at your County Courthouse.
-
Step 2
When you access the county arrest records database (see resources below), you'll not only be able to see previous arrests, but you can find marriage and death certificates, court cases, inmate records search, and any other kind of criminal background information. All of this is public information and can be quickly found with a simple county arrest records search.
-
Step 3
Once in the program, simply add as much information that you have on the person you are investigating. You'll have a narrowed search and can view any mug shots that are available, as well as addresses, relatives and other public information. The better databases will allow you to search across the entire county, not just the county you live in
-
Step 4
While performing your county arrest records search, type in your address to pull up a list of sex offenders in your neighborhood. Do the same for your child's school address just to cross check that no one you trust leaving your kids with has a criminal history.
