How to Make Homemade Donuts

Looking for something to serve with your hot chocolate? Donuts are a wonderful snack that can be served with brunch, dinner or just cold winter night. But you don’t have to go out and buy donuts at Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Krème to enjoy donuts. Follow this great recipe for homemade donuts and you will save on money and even have fun preparing donuts for your family and friends.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 cups of cooking oil
  • 1 can of biscuits
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar or brown sugar
  • spoon, knife, fork
  • pot
  • paper bags
  1. Step 1

    Pour three cups of cooking oil into a pot and let simmer on medium heat for five to eight minutes until hot.

  2. Step 2

    Remove biscuit dough from the can and poke a hole in each biscuit with a spoon or knife. Make sure not to make the hole too big.

  3. Step 3

    Place each donut in the pot and cook on each side for two minutes or until brown. Use a large fork to turn the donut over and be careful not to touch the hot oil.

  4. Step 4

    Carefully remove each donut and place in paper bag. Shake bag to fully coat donuts with sugar. Remove donuts from the bag and let stand for a few minutes until they cool down.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be careful not to touch the hot oil.
