Step 1
Start by deciding what type of information you can write about and then sell. It doesn’t have to be a long book (ebook) or report, it just needs to be extremely useful to the reader. Information that helps a reader achieve something will sell the best. If you help you reader make money doing something specific, it’s even better. For instance, how to get your book published, how to make money online, how to make money scrapbooking, etc.

Now you will need to find magazines that compliment your (e)book or report. Obviously you will want magazines that include a classified ad section. The best way to find the appropriate magazines is to spend an afternoon at a Barnes and Noble Bookstore researching their magazine section. Invest in the ones that provide the closest fit. Check out the classifieds to see which ones are the best. This will provide a template for your ad. Don’t copy the ad, just use it as a template.

Step 3
Use a two-step approach. Use the classified ad to bring your prospects to your website. Then use the website to sell your product. Be sure to capture the emails of your visitors first, then move them into the sales page where the real selling takes place. You will make a great deal more money with this method than trying to sell the product in the classified ad.
