Hard-Boiled Eggs

Ever find yourself wishing the center of your hard boiled eggs were perfect, not runny or too rubbery? If so this is your "How To" guide to preparing a perfect hard boiled egg. Happy Boiling!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Uncooked Eggs (Personal Preference on How Many)
  • Saucepan
  • Water
  • Ice
  • Large Bowl
  1. Step 1

Choose how many eggs you would like to prepare.

  2. Step 2

Choose a saucepan to use for the boiling of the eggs that will allow for 1 inch of water to cover the eggs.

  3. Step 3

Add water to the saucepan and bring to a boil.

  4. Step 4

While the water is coming to a boil, fill your large bowl with warm water.

  5. Step 5

Add eggs to the warm water.

  6. Step 6

After the water in the saucepan has come to a boil, add the eggs from the warm water, one by one, to the saucepan using a slotted spoon.

  7. Step 7

After all eggs have been transferred from the warm water to the saucepan, add ice to the warm water. Set aside.

  8. Step 8

Turn the heat on the saucepan down to below a simmer and cook, uncovered, for 20 minuets.

  9. Step 9

(After 20 minuets has passed turn off the burner) Take the eggs from the saucepan one by one and transfer them to the bowl of ice water.

  10. Step 10

After a few minuets remove the eggs from the ice water and tap lightly on a hard surface to aid in cracking the shells. Roll the egg on the hard surface gently or between your two hands to remove shells.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to only allow eggs to cook for 20 minuets when using this recipe
  • Helpful Hint: If the shells are tough to remove place the egg under a running faucet and the shells membrane will loosen from the egg and come right off.
