Cupcake cakes are an easier alternative to regular cakes. They have portion control and do not need to be cut, so you do not need plates and forks. This kind of cake is not difficult to make and your kids will love it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 24 cupcakes, baked and cooled
  • icing of choice
  • spatula or piping bag with a star tip
  • cake platter
  • a little imagination
  1. Step 1

Place the cupcakes on the cake platter. Arrangement as you wish. Moving them around can make any shape you wish, like a square, star, circle, oval, and even a heart. Set them as close to each other as possible because of the gaps.

  2. Step 2

Once the cupcakes have been arranged, use the spatula and the icing of your choice to frost the cupcakes. Do not use a thin icing as it will fall into the gaps. Frost in one direction only to make the icing process easier.

  3. Step 3

If a piping bag is more preferable to you then fill the piping bag with the icing and using a star tip, star piping in one direction only. Icing is like coloring, if you color in all directions, the picture is going to look sloppy. Once your done icing, refrigerate the cake.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use sprinkles, candy, or food coloring to decorate the cake.
  • Use a writing tip to write a message on the cake.
