With the economy the way it is, everyone is looking for ways to save money. Here are some tips and ideas to help you save money while food shopping.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get the Sunday paper, clip all the coupons. Even the ones you do not want or need. They will come in handy later.

  2. Step 2

Go on web sites coolsavings.com; coupons.com; and thecouponmom.com. They include printable coupons and also have great state by state price trackers and weekly deals.

  3. Step 3

Check out the web site thecouponclippers.com. This website lets you "order" coupons online. You pay only a small fee and shipping.

  4. Step 4

Go to your local library and ask if they have a coupon exchange. If so look for free savings already clipped out of the paper.

  5. Step 5

Exchange with fellow neighbors, school moms, family, friends, etc. This is where the ones you might have discarded for baby items will come in handy for the young parents who are struggling.

Tips & Warnings
  • Also be wary that some stores will not take online coupons.
  • For items you buy regularly, go on the product's website and see if they offer coupons directly via email.
  • Make sure you are signed up for the stores discount cards.
  • Shop around. You might end up saving money by getting a few items at different stores depending on their weekly sales.
  • Discard expired coupons before you go shopping so you don't bring them to the register and end up paying full price!
