Step 1
First thing to check is your grip. Aim yourself to your target and get your club face square to the ball. This is where you will want to grip your club so it will hit the ball square. A slice is caused by hitting the ball at a slight angle, causing the ball to spin and curve. When gripping your club you will not want to squeeze real tight. A 80% grip will allow you to gain more power and hit straighter.
-
Step 2
Next you will want to check your swing. When swinging a golf club it's not like swinging a baseball bat. For the right hand golfer you will want to keep your left arm as straight as possible when making your back swing.(This will cause you to keep a square swinging plane when hitting the ball.)
-
Step 3
If your still having a problem with a slice after the first 2 steps you still have hope. When setting up for your drive set up in a normal stance adding in the first 2 steps. Take your right foot and slide it back a couple of inches. (Don't slide it to your right, slide it back to your heel or butt.) This will cause your back shoulder to raise up a little bit and will help you correct that slice.
-
Step 4
Take your time with these steps and it may take a little time to get your swing down and that slice out. Good luck and practice, practice, practice.

on 7/4/2009 Love this advice. I'm new to the game and I'm already a fanatic. Definitely would be cool to learn how to draw the ball. Thanks.
