Last minute vacation deals have taken over the traditional plan ahead type vacations. Due to over building and the sagging economy, many of the vacation rental homes and villas are reduced considerably from their regular price. Some are discounted 30-50% even on holiday weeks.

You can spend hours on the computer searching, but there is a great website that does all the hunting, pricing and fits you into what you want. Vacation Home Pal offers personalized service and gives you all the discounted vacations via email or telephone. Their website displays discounted properties in Orlando, Kissimmmee, Clermont as well as Davenport. They have thousands of homes to choose from and you can call them directly or have them call you to assist you. There is a link for their website in the resources section at the bottom of this article.

Why a vacation home or villa? Simple, you can have the same comforts as home or better, they have 2 or more bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens for your convenience. If you have a family or a large group, this is perfect and you don't have to stay in a cramped hotel room. The best thing is you can save and make a few meals at the house instead of spending it on out food.

Pool Homes offer your own private pool and backyard, so if you missed your New Year's Resolution to drop a few pounds, you won't be parading uncomfortably at the resort pool.

  5. Step 5

Locations are important, but driving in Orlando and the surrounding areas isn't to bad. With major roadways such as Route 192, Route 27, Route 435 and Route 4, getting to the attractions is fairly easy. Auto rentals are fair priced and many of the vacation homes and villas offer a shuttle service, some for a fee, others for free.

If you're ready to take a vacation and don't want to spend a fortune doing so, many of the villas and homes are priced under $1000 for a weeks stay. You can also split the cost of the home with friends or family and reduce your costs even more. For example, two families of four would need at least two hotel rooms and have only one room at their disposal, one bathroom and one small sitting area. Privacy is at a minimum and the cost can be cut in half by sharing a 3-7 bedroom private pool home.

  7. Step 7

Your planning can be significatly cut in half by using a service such as Vacation Home Pal. They do all the research for you and locate the best pricing for you, send you the links to the property and you can choose to book it online on their secure server, call the toll free number or even call the main office and have them assist you as well.

Tips & Warnings
  • DO NOT send a cashiers check to anyone, the website or owner should have a way that you can pay by credit card or debit card for your protection.
  • DON'T fall for the free tickets or something that sounds way out of line. Nicely kept resort style homes and villas are reasonably priced from about $75 a night and up.
  • DO bring or buy once your there, dishwasher soap, condiments, napkins and paper plates. The homes have plates, cups, silverware, pots and pans and other serving utensils.
  • The vacation homes and villas DO have bed linens, towels and washcloths. You will need to bring your own beach towels. Each home has it's own washer and dryer.
  • DO use a trusted service where you can actually talk to a person. Vacation Home Pal allow you to call in and ask questions, help with booking online and assistance for special group arrangements.
