How to make a free website with Google

Google Sites

Google Sites is a free service that allows Google Account users to create and maintain a website for free. Google has a very automated web-based program that is very simple for anyone to use.

Things You'll Need

• An idea for a website.
• A Google Account or create a new Google Account for free.

Instructions

1. Open your web browser and go to http://sites.google.com

2. Sign in to Google Sites with your Google account. This is your gmail log in. If you do not have a Google Account it is free to sign up for, just go to https://www.google.com/accounts and create an account.

3. Select your site name. This name will be located at the URL http://sites.google.com/site/YOUR SITE NAME HERE.

4. Enter a short description of this site. This is an optional step, but an important one to complete. This will help your site with rankings in search engines.

5. Select if the site will be shared publicly or controlled. You can restrict the people who have access to your site. This is a great feature for web sites of family information or pictures.

6. Select a Site theme. This can be changed later.

7. Click the "Create Site" icon! Your done!
