Sing along karaoke is so much fun – and there are cheap karaoke tracks available in a number of online kareoke websites so you can sing karaoke right in the comfort of your own home! Free and cheap karaoke tracks are the perfect way to practice your sing along karaoke before you go out to your favorite bar, or if you are shy or are just learning to sing, there’s nothing like online kareoke to hone your talents!

   If you just want to get a feel for sing along karaoke, rather than record an online kareoke performance to share, there are a number of places where you can stream karaoke tracks without having to pay money or sign up an account! At TheKaraokeChannel.com, click on “Library”, then “Browse Songs”, and filter the results for “Free Songs Only”. All of the karaoke tracks in this list will play in full, so you can sing right along. The same goes at KaraokeParty.com – just scroll through their list of songs, and any karaoke track without a golden lock icon may be played for free, without an account. You may also have some luck by visiting YouTube.com and typing in “karaoke” or “instrumental” along with the song title you’re looking for.

   Most sing along karaoke websites have the option to sign up for accounts, where you can access free and cheap karaoke tracks. SingSnap.com has one of the largest libraries available for online kareoke, but the majority of their songs (and all of the new releases for the last several months) have been limited to gold accounts. KaraokeParty.com and KaraokeChannel.com also offered paid accounts where you can perform sing along karaoke with their cheap karaoke tracks. One site that has (thus far) remained completely free is MySpace Karaoke. All you need is a MySpace account to sing online kareoke and record karaoke tracks there.

You can host a great sing along karaoke party with songs purchased from retailers like Karaoke-Version.com, Amazon.com MP3 Marketplace, and iTunes. Although mp3 karaoke tracks will not include scrolling lyrics, they are often higher quality than those found at online kareoke websites – and the best part is that you can burn these karaoke tracks to a CD or put them on an mp3 player, so you can have a sing alone karaoke party anywhere!

• If you use the recording tools at online kareoke websites, your recording will be available for other members to listen to and rate. Be sure to set it as “private” (if this option is available) if you do not want to share your sing alone karaoke version with others.
