Are you jonesing for the next episode of 24, Lost, Grey's Anatomy, House, Terminator, Burn Notice, etc? Hop on the internet and visit these cool sites.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • computer or cell phone w/internet access
  • time
  1. Step 1

Visit the home page for your favorite show or shows. If your show is on ABC go to ABC.com, NBC go to NBC.com, CBS go to CBS.com, Fox go to Fox.com, WB go to WB.com, and so on. If you can't find your home page choose a search engine such as google and type in your show name and home page. A link will pop right up. Once you're on the page for your show you'll likely find clips of upcoming episodes, interviews with casts and characters, full episodes for your viewing pleasure so you can catch up on any episodes you may have missed, and lots more cool stuff to keep you satisfied till the next episode airs.

  2. Step 2

Join a fan site for your favorite show(s) and blog with other fans to discuss upcoming episodes, plot twists, what makes you love the series and what ticks you off about it. It'll set your mind at ease to know you aren't the only picking up on subtle inuendos and conspiracy theories.

  3. Step 3

Check out Fan Fiction, aka fanfic, or fan fic. Never heard of it? Brace yourself! There are fans out there who are even more obsessed with your favorite show(s) than you are. So obsessed in fact that they are writing their own episodes, short stories, novels, excerpts, etc based on all the characters you know and love and/or hate.

Here are a few sites to visit in your spare time:

    fanfiction.com, fanizzle.org/fanfiction/, fanfic.net

also visit a search engine such as google or yahoo and type in the name of your show followed by fan fiction or fan fic and hundreds of sites will pop up with fan fic on just your show.

Tips & Warnings
  • take your time and browse. Each show can have hundreds of sites. Some are good or even great. Others are downright pathetic. Don't be discouraged if the first story you read isn't awesome or in contrast if the first one you read is as good as an episode don't get your hopes up. They won't all be like that.
  • before you know it you may even want to try your hand at writing a fic or 2 yourself. The feedback from fans can really make your day :)
  • fan fiction has been around a long time and lots of shows are in syndication so you'll find stories on everything from Bonanza to Desperate Housewives to the West Wing and Different Strokes.
  • Not all fan fiction is pg rated. There are adult sites out there so watch what you click on and monitor what your children are doing.
