      Right water filter

      Buy the right water filter for your refrigerator. Kenmore has changed the style of water filter many times over the years. The easiest way is to write down the model of your refrigerator in a piece of paper and bring it the store. You can also bring the user manual to the store. The picture show how the filter looks like in its own box.

      Turn the ice maker's power switch to the Off position. Hold filter cap firmly and unscrew towards left. Some water will leak out. So you place a container underneath the filter to avoid make a mess.

      Rinse the cup. Discard the old filter cartridge. Place the new cartridge in the cup. and then screw it back onto housing.

      Turn ice maker's power switch back to On. Run water for 3 minutes to assure the purest water is store in the water tank. Also this process clean out the new filter.

Tips & Warnings

  • When cup is completely tighten, the Kenmore logo facing outward.

  • Buy the right filter from Sears or OSH.

  • Don't over tight your cup. Use your hand, not a wrench.

  • Make sure there is no water leak before you run water for 3 minutes.
