Maserati: The Un-Economy Car
Maserati: The Un-Economy Car

Sure, sure, sure... your **other** car is a Maserati. But if you're looking for a cheap set of wheels as your main car, then look no further. Here's how to find the economy car you need, at the best price.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Visit ConsumerSearch.com's page of Economy Car Reviews. ConsumerSearch is a terrific product review site. They "review the reviews" from books, magazines and websites like Consumer Reports, epinions.com, Car and Driver, Cars.com, and many others. The information covers reviews from automotive experts as well reviews from typical drivers like me and you.

  2. Step 2

Also check out MotorTrend.com's Car of the Year pages. These detailed and well-respected reviews provide terrific insight into which cars are worth considering, and why.

  3. Step 3
    Honda Civic

**Take a Look at the Honda Civic**

This economy model sedan generally gets excellent reviews across the board, for comfort, handling, reliability, safety, and so on. Owners love it. Yeah, it's not the hottest-looking car on the road, but that's what your Maserati is for... right?

By the way, the Toyota Corolla is another contender for the best economy sedan, with an excellent track record for reliability. This is the one Momma Sarokin loves to drive.

  4. Step 4
    Mazda3

**Test Drive the Mazda3 for More Zip**

If you're looking for something a bit zippier, then the sporty Mazda3 is a terrific economy choice, with excellent quality and reliability, and a performance several reveiwers call "spirited".

  5. Step 5
    Toyota Yaris

**Check Out Toyota Yaris for Extra Economy**

If a small price-tag is your biggest consideration, then give the Toyota Yaris a spin. It's not the absolute cheapest subcompact out there, but spend a bit extra to get the good quality build, safety, and performance that this model offers.

  6. Step 6

The Resources section includes links to more information ...make sure to check them for any updates to the recommendations listed here.

on 2/21/2009 Don't need a new car yet. Our 20-year-old Honda Civic is doing just fine. But you never know, so thanks for this excellent article.
