Step 1
When you join a Traffic Exchange network, you are exchanging traffic with other members who are working to drive traffic to their own site. Both parties win. You are viewing their site, and in turn, your site is being viewed too. This increases the amount of views to all websites involved.
-
Step 2
Traffic exchanges use a credit "ratio," which determines how many websites the surfer must view in order to receive a hit on their own. For example, you may need to view 10 websites to earn a credit, or hit, on your own site.
-
Step 3
Most traffic exchanges impose a time limit while members are browsing. These can range anywhere from 10 to 60 seconds. This assures you that your site will be viewed for a minimum amount of time and not overlooked.
-
Step 4
The vast majority of Traffic Exchange programs are free to use. However, most give you the option of "purchasing" credits. In other words, you may have the option of purchasing 100 credits for a nominal fee of say, $4.99. What this means to you is that you will automatically get the hits on your site without manually surfing other sites.
-
Step 5
Traffic exchanges will allow you to transfer credits to other types of credits, such as "banner" credits. You can design and promote a banner free of charge simply by earning credits to use towards the banner promotion.
-
Step 6
There are hundreds of traffic exchange programs and way too many to reference. The Resources section of this article will give you links to the Traffic Exchange programs that I personally have used and have been satisfied with. I encourage you to also review the Traffic Exchange Review website, also found in the Resources section of this article. Through this website, you can learn more about Traffic Exchanges as well as see reviews on specific Traffic Exchange programs. Reviewing each of these programs will help you choose which service(s) are best for your advertising needs.
