Things You'll Need:
- Rice
- towels
-
Step 1
Take out the phone out of the water as soon as possible. Even if your phone is in the water for 30 seconds all hope is not lost. Your phone is pretty well sealed so water does not enter it so quickly.
-
Step 2
Separate the phone as soon as possible. That includes taking out the batteries and all of the other parts.
-
Step 3
Quickly put them on a towel or napkin so most of the water wouold get soaked into the towel.
-
Step 4
Then put your separate cell phone pieces in rice. Yes rice. This is because it soaks up the water very well. Leave your phone in the rice for about 30 minutes or even the whole night depending on the situation.
-
Step 5
Try your phone. Put the battery back inside and test it out. If it doesn't work then charge your battery and try again.

on 6/10/2009 I shoul have had this advice handy around this time last yr. How ironic that your warning is don't use a hairdryer, I'm the dummy who did that. I thought about how bad of an idea that was later. Oh well, I have a new phone.
