Recycling is so easy but why not take it a step further and turn trash into treasure. Juice boxes is one those items that can't be recycled so it ends up in our land fills. I have figured out a new use for them.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Two juice boxes (you can use Capri Sun or Kool-aid Jammer)
  • Sewing machine
  • Velcro or snap closure
  1. Step 1

Take your juice box and cut slit in bottom. Empty remaining juice out and wash. Remove any plastic from straw and glue. Let the juice box dry.

  2. Step 2

After they have dried completely flatten them out don't worry about wrinkles. Decide whether you want logo facing outward on both sides or just one side.

  3. Step 3

Lay you juice boxes down flat. Now place one on top of the other and figure out how big you want it. For mine I laid one on top of the other and lined up both. I then folded the top one in half and made a crease. The bottom one I folded over the top to make a place for the Velcro so it would close. But you can keep both top and bottom lined up and not have a lip.

  4. Step 4

Now you take your top one and stitch your fold. Add the Velcro or snap.

  5. Step 5

Take your bottom one and add the other piece of Velcro or snap.

  6. Step 6

Now take your two pieces(top and bottom) and line them back up. Stitch all the way around from the opening on one side around the bottom and up the other side. You should have an opening to place things. You are now complete.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can line up the edge of your pouch with the sewing foot and have a bigger opening or increase the seam to have smaller opening.
  • You can use a zig-zag stitch or straight stitch.
  • You can use colored thread or invisible.
  • They are pretty tough after you have finished them.
  • I use old needles to my sewing machine to make these instead of new ones because after a few of these the new one will be dull and could be bent.
  • Once it is stitched it is stitched. Be careful the holes will be left behind unlike with fabric.
