How to Remove Stains From a Microfiber Couch

Many homeowners opt for furniture covered in microfiber because of its affordability and resistance to dirt and stains. This material holds up well over time, but it may acquire a stain or two if you use your couch often. If your microfiber couch does get a stain, you can remove the spot by using ordinary, inexpensive household items that are gentle and nontoxic.

Things You'll Need

• Liquid dish soap
• Sponge
• Towel

Instructions

1. Use a dull knife to scrape off any dried residue from the stained areas.

2. Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of liquid dish soap to a quart of warm water.

3. Dip a sponge or clean cloth into the warm, soapy water, and use it to gently scrub the stained area.

4. Gently scrub the stain with a cloth or sponge moistened with plain water.

5. Alternate sponging the spot with soapy water and clean water until the stain is gone.

6. Blot excess moisture from the area with a folded towel. Allow the microfiber to air-dry.
