Things You'll Need:
- size 7 straight needles (or size needed to obtain gauge)
- size 5 straight needles (or size needed to obtain gauge)
- yarn (any color)
- tapestry needle
- scissors

Step 1
Cast on 40 stitches with smaller needles. Switch to larger needles. ROW ONE: Knit 2 stitches, purl the next 2. Repeat this pattern across the row.

Step 2
ROW TWO: Purl 2 stitches, knit the next 2. Repeat this pattern across the row.

Step 3
Repeat rows one and two until work measures 3/4". This is the bottom cuff of the legwarmer.

Step 4
Work in stockinette stitch (knit one row, purl the next) until entire work measures 6" from the cast-on edge. Switch to smaller needles again.

Step 5
Work another k2, p2 rib for 1". This will be the top cuff of the legwarmer. Bind off. Cut yarn, leaving a 16" tail. Stitch up the sides and weave in the loose ends.
