Write The Million Dollar Sales Letter

Great sales letter appeal to the needs of the reader and provide an emotional trigger to purchase. It’s important to create desire in your sales letter, whether it’s a sales letter on your web page, or one that you will be mailing.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Most professional copywriters use a formula calls AIDA. It stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, and Action.

First you must gain the attention of your reader. The first paragraph is crucial and most copywriters spend the bulk of the energy on this part of the sales letter. Answer the question of why your prospect would benefit from your product. That will grab their attention.

  2. Step 2

Increase their interest by outlining the benefits of your product. Address the most important aspects of what your product will do for them. Make sure the written dialogue is snappy. Boring details don’t sell products.

  3. Step 3

Create desire. Appeal to the emotions of your prospect. Most sales are made on emotion. Try to get inside your prospects head. If you were the prospect why would you buy your product? Get to the root and the root is always emotional.

  4. Step 4

Ask for the sale. This is the call for action. Instruct the prospect what to do next to seal the sale. If you don’t ask, they probably will not buy. Make the buying process smooth and effortless.
