When addressing your wedding invitations you will want to make sure not to offend your future guests of your wedding. There are many circumstances that could make addressing an invitation different than most of the invitations you will be sending.

Below are some tips on how to properly address your wedding invitations should you come across some of these circumstances.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • guest list
  • pen
  • invitations
  1. Step 1

When inviting a couple who lives with each other but are not married, you will want to put full names of both with the female's name on a line and the male's name on the line below. Make sure to put their names on separate lines.

  2. Step 2

When inviting a married couple, but the wife kept her maiden name, you will want to address it like this: "Ms. Jane Doe and Mr. John Smith" on the same line.

  3. Step 3

When inviting a married couple and only the wife is a doctor you would address the invitation like this: "Doctor Jane Doe and Mr. John Smith" on the same line.

  4. Step 4

When inviting roommates (that are not dating) send separate invitations. Do not try to save stamps by sending one invitation.
