Get Rid of Gophers or Moles

If gophers or moles are ruining your lawn, then here are some ways to help scare them off. Better someone else's yard then yours! Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Bounce Dryer Sheets - When you see a hole dug up in your yard, place a Bounce (or any other name brand dryer sheet) into the hole and fill the it back up with dirt. This helps repel them since they hate the aroma.

    • 2

Cat Litter - Pour some cat litter into the hole, and you will notice the gopher or mole disappear. They hate the smell of cat litter, so they will leave the area.

    • 3

Ammonia - Pour straight ammonia into the hole. Gophers and moles will hate the smell and disappear.

    • 4

Dawn Dish Washing Soap & Castor Oil - Make a combination of 1/2 a cup of Castor oil and 4 tablespoons into 2 gallons of water. Drench the entire area inside the hole and around the area. The gopher or mole will leave that area and go on to someone else's yard.

Coffee grounds - Spread coffee, used or unused around your yard. Gophers and moles hate the smell of coffee so they will leave your yard. Coffee grounds also work great as a fertilizer so you are doing two jobs at once. Often you can ask your local coffee house for used coffee grounds and they will be glad to give them to your for free. Many people do this for their gardens all year long!
