How to Lower Blood Glucose Levels Naturally
Blood sugar or blood glucose is essentially the energy reserves your body's cells use to operate. A healthy person's blood glucose reading should measure between 80 and 100 milligrams per deciliter when tested. Blood glucose typically is managed by a naturally occurring hormone called insulin; diabetics, however, may not have this hormone or may be resistant to its effects. Their blood glucose levels are often much higher than a healthy person's and need to be monitored and controlled through other means. There are natural ways to lower your blood glucose, or make sure it doesn't get high to begin with.

1
Exercise regularly. Blood glucose is essentially fuel for your body, and the more you work your body, the more fuel it will need. A regular exercise routine will help lower your blood glucose and will also lower your insulin needs if you are insulin dependent.

2
Lower your carbohydrate intake. Any food that contains carbohydrates in its ingredient list is a food that will eventually be converted into blood glucose. You can help control your blood glucose levels by reducing the amount of carbohydrates you consume.

3
Eat more protein. Good lean protein, such as chicken breast or pork loin, will slow down the conversion of carbohydrates to blood glucose, and will make it easier to control your sugar levels.
-
4
Relax. High stress levels can cause your liver to release glycogen into your bloodstream. Glycogen is essentially a secondary storage of glucose, and will raise your blood sugar levels rapidly. Try to avoid stressful situations and take some time each day to wind down.
