Step 1
Sell them to school book stores. Usually school books stores will have a buy back program. You may not get an extremely large percentage back. Call around to nearby colleges, you don't have to sell it to the book store you bought it from and different book stores have different policies. Some places have scheduled times to buy back books so make sure you call before you go.
-
Step 2
Post flyers on campus bulletin boards. Make sure to include your contact information on the fliers. If you are able to sell them this way you'll probably get more for the books than you would at the book store and the buyer will probably pay less for the books than they would at the book store so you both win.
-
Step 3
Post them on craig's list. If you go to www.craigslist.com and find your local area you can sell items and get inquiries directly to your email. This is a good way to sell all kinds of stuff. The perks are the same as selling them on campus, you will probably get more than you would at the book store.
-
Step 4
If you don't want to deal with people you can sell them on www.cash4books.net. You enter the ISBN number on the barcode and they give you a quote on what they are willing to offer. Then you create an account and print out a shipping label, they pay shipping but you need to pay for the boxes to ship them in. They then get the books, value them and then send you a check. (Note: I've never tried this method myself but read about on a yahoo news article.)

on 10/25/2009 Great tips. If you can't sell them, you can donate them to charity for a good tax deduction.
