Make a Baseball Card Memory Game

The memory game is one of my favorite games to play with the kids in my class. One thing that I love about the memory game is that it's a game a 5 year old can legitimately beat an adult at. Another great thing about the memory game is that, unlike most other games they have ever played, it's very important for them to pay attention to each other's turns. If they do not pay attention, they will never win. Here are steps for playing the Memory Game with baseball cards.

Instructions

    • 1

Get a bunch of baseball cards. Make sure you get a lot of duplicates because that is what you are going to need. Ninety-Nine percent of baseball cards are worthless, so getting a bunch of them should not be expensive.

    • 2

Since the backs of all baseball cards are different, you have to lay the cards on a piece of construction paper and then laminate them. This will also make them last forever.

    • 3

Have the kids play the Memory Game with the cards. If they get a match, they get to go again.

    • 4

Let them play against adults; it won't be long before they can beat them!
