How to Take a Screenshot With an iPhone

One of the less well-known features of Apple's iPhone is the ability to take a screenshot of anything that shows on the device's screen. Taking a screenshot on the iPhone is easier than taking a screenshot on a Mac. It takes only seconds.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on the iPhone and navigate to any screen -- a Web page, any app screen or email. If it shows on the screen, you can photograph it.

    • 2

Locate the "Home" button centered under the screen and the "On/Off" button located on the top right edge of the iPhone.

    • 3

Click the "Home" and the "On/Off" button at the same time and release. Do not hold the buttons down, or the iPhone thinks you want it to shut off. You will hear a clicking noise that sounds just like the IPhone's camera.

Press the "Home" button once to return to the home screen and tap the "Photos" icon. Tap "Camera Roll" to open the album. There you will see the screenshot you just took.
