Things You'll Need:
- Bed sheets (any size)
- Scissors
- Wood
- Fabric paint or dye
- Paint brushes
- Staple gun
-
Step 1
Choose the bedding and wood you would like to use. The wood is going to be the frame for the bedding, so make sure it is to the size you like.
-
Step 2
Once you have fashioned the wood into the frame size of your choice, make sure that the bedding is clean. If there are stains, evaluate if it would be easily covered with dye or paint. If not, you may want to cut around it.
-
Step 3
Cut the bedding so that there is a 12" over hang from the frame. Please note that the frame is not going to be visible, it is merely to act as a foundation for the bedding/canvas.
-
Step 4
Decide if you are going to dye the bedding. If so, do that before you affix the bedding onto the frame.
-
Step 5
Once the bedding material is ready, lay the bedding on a solid, flat surface. Place the frame on top of the bedding. Make sure it is centered. Pull the top of the bedding over the top of the frame. Staple a few staples evenly along the top of the frame. Continue to do so along all the edges. If there is excess fabric, cut it off while maintaining the uniform of the frame.
-
Step 6
Now you are ready to paint! If you chose to dye the bedding and want just a splash of color, you do not have to proceed. Otherwise, paint away! This is when you creative juices come in handy.
