How to easily subscribe to RSS feeds using Mozilla Firefox

You can easily add RSS feeds to your Mozilla Firefox Bookmarks Toolbar to have your favorite news and information right at your finger tips.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Active Internet Connection
  • Computer!
  1. Step 1

    Go to a website that you frequently visit and look for the Orange RSS Icon in your address bar. Click on the Orange RSS Icon.

    Firefox will navigate to a new page that gives you details about the RSS feed and gives you the option to subscribe. To place the RSS feed in your Bookmarks Toolbar, select it from the drop down box labeled: "Subscribe to this feed using". If you use Outlook to access your email, you can also select Microsoft Outlook instead of Bookmarks Toolbar and RSS feeds will be delivered to your inbox!

    After choosing Bookmarks Toolbar in step two, you will be prompted to add your RSS Feed. Select "create in bookmarks toolbar."

    You should now see your RSS feed appear on your Bookmarks Toolbar in Firefox! Click on it to see more details. You can then usually click on each entry to take you to a webpage will full details.

Tips & Warnings
  • I used weather.com for this example but a lot of webpages are offering RSS feeds now. Look at the address bar of all your favorite sites to see if they offer it.
  • You can right click on the RSS feed in your Bookmarks Toolbar and edit the properties of each feed. -- I like to make the Name of my feeds shorter so that I can fit more in my Bookmarks Toolbar.
  • DON'T GET ADDICTED TO RSS!!!!
