Fruit flies love moist fermented food. Not only does it serve as a food source but it serves as the perfect breeding ground for laying eggs. With that said, it’s important to remove all food out in the open.

Next, thoroughly wipe down all countertops, cabinets, tables, and floors from crumbs and spills. Make sure you look under refrigerators and stoves for hidden spills.

Once sink is clean and free of dishware and standing water pour a small amount of bleach down the sink. This is especially important if you have a garbage disposal.

    Remove all flowers and plants.

  11. Step 11

Take a bowl and fill just the bottom with juice.

  12. Step 12

Next, place a few drops of cooking oil in the juice. This will help trap the fruit flies

  13. Step 13

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Once the bowl is covered, carefully poke small holes in the plastic.

  14. Step 14

Place the trap on a sturdy surface. Make sure the bowl is in a spot where it will not get bumped.
