How to Get Free Stuff Using Freecycle

Do you like getting free stuff? Do you like giving things away as well? Would you prefer to keep stuff out of landfills? Well, you're not alone. There is a wonderful way to get and give away free stuff. It's called Freecycle. Here's how to get free stuff on Freecycle.

Things You'll Need

• Internet access
• An email account

Instructions

1. Type "freecycle" into a search engine or simply go to www.freecycle.org. Feel free to peruse the information on the site. It is here that you can learn about freecycle's objectives to get people to exchange free items while keep trash out of the landfill.

2. Type your location into the "Find a Group Near You" box. This will display a list of Freecycle networks near you. Click on that network and you will be provided with a brief description and a link to a Yahoo group. You're one step closer to free stuff!

3. Click the link directing you to Yahoo groups found on your network page. On the yahoo page, click "join this group". From there you will have to sign in with a Yahoo email account. If you do not have a Yahoo email account, register for one. They are free!

4. You've now successfully signed up for freecycle. You will now receive several emails daily from members giving away or desiring things. You are also free to post your own wants or giveaways. If you see an item that you'd like, respond to that person's email and arrange a pickup. I personally have received a free set of golf clubs and free toys for my kids. Awesome!

Tips & Warnings

• Practice proper freecycle etiquette. Don't spam people or try to sell things. The moderator of the group may delete your account.

• Participation in Freecycle will result in a high volume of email.
