Meditate: The Christian way

We all probably know what meditation is and how important it is to the well being of our souls and minds. Using biblical principles, I want to highlight what benefits meditation can bring to you if you follow these principles.

Joshua 1:8

Meditation is an important Christian activity. It simply means to ‘ruminate’ or’ mutter’. Meditation comes in three levels and stages, each of which has unique benefits.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your mind
  • Your Bible
  • A serene and quiet location
  • Prayer
  1. Step 1

The first level of meditation is when you read the scripture quietly, pondering over it in your mind. When you do this, the Holy Spirit is able to drive the word of God deep into your spirit. The word of god develops roots in you and thus endures for eternity. (Mark 4:16-17)

  2. Step 2

The second level of meditation is when you quietly mutter to yourself, the thoughts you generated from the first level of meditation. At this stage, the word comes from your spirit to your lips and becomes personal to you. It becomes ‘Rhema’ which is God’s specific word to you beyond the written pages. You no longer see Paul’s or Peter’s letter, but God Himself speaking to your needs.

  3. Step 3

In the third level, you say it out loud! This level requires you to be alone in a place where you will not disturb others with your loud talk. The benefit of this level of meditation is that you drown every other negative thought in your consciousness. You shout the devil down and talk your spirit up!

Tips & Warnings
  • You now know the benefits of meditation. Start right away with your Bible. It is your success key. Joshua 1:8 says that when you meditate (using these steps) day and night, your ways prospers and you have good success.
