Get Your Dog to Catch a Frisbee

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • dog
  • 2 frisbees
  1. Step 1

Buy your dog two Frisbees one to play catch with and the other to get familiarized with. Around the house use the first frisbee to play tug of war with or throw it short distances. Do what ever you can to get your dog to accept the frisbee and not be afraid of it.

  2. Step 2

Using the second frisbee take your dog outside or to a park. Make sure there is a lot of room to play and free of all distractions.

  3. Step 3

Begin buy teasing him with the frisbee, allowing him to jump for it. Once he starts jumping for it you can start raising it higher each time then dropping it. This will get the dog accustomed jumping and catching a moving frisbee.

  4. Step 4

After your dog has mastered the last step, move on to short tosses, with each catch make sure you praise him for a good job. Next grab the frisbee and throw it even farther out, continue to do this with each successful catch. Eventually, your dog will be chasing after a frisbee like a pro.
