Step 1
vinegarThe right cleaner - don't waste your money on those store-bought cleaners...a much better cleaner is to mix 1/4 cup of white vinegar to 1 quart of water in a spray bottle.
The vinegar cuts the grease and brings out the shine! -
Step 2
crumpled newspaperThe right rag - Okay, this isn't really a rag, but more like newspaper. You heard me, use newspaper. Crumple the newspaper and wipe down the newly washed windows.
The newspaper acts like a cheaper version of a chamois leather. The ink in the newspaper will make the window shine... -
Step 3
Know when to wash your windows - the best time to clean your windows is on a cloudy day, when your windows are damp and you can see every fingerprint and smudge.
Sunny days will make the windows dry too quickly and leave smear marks. -
Step 4
Stop the steaks! When cleaning a window, you want to make sure you clean the outside when you clean the inside. To prevent those streaks from showing up you will want to wipe one side of the window (either the inside or the outside) vertically and the other side horizontally.
This way, if there is a smear, you will know which side it is one and you can take care of it.
