catch an airplane!

With prices rising everyday it's always a great thing to find when you can find a good deal on airplane tickets. Come and check out the tips!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • patience
  1. Step 1

Sometimes having a credit card with frequent-flyer miles attached as a reward will help reduce tickets.. Depending on the airline, it takes quite a few thousand miles to get a free ticket. (Usually requires some sort of tax payment and service charge payment which totals to approximately 75 dollars.)

  2. Step 2

Take advantage of programs like priceline.com or hotwire.com because then you can put down an offer on a plane ticket. More often than not you will get a good deal on tickets and sometimes lower than you expected. It doesn't hurt to try.

  3. Step 3

Booking early helps get a better deal than if you wait a few days before the day you want to fly out. Prices tend to get higher when you're trying to book a flight less than 14 days away. Book as early as possible and take advantage of good deals. (Be careful, this can be a double dagger.)

  4. Step 4

Communicate with the airline that you're hoping to fly with because sometimes catching airplane rides at the last minute can save hundreds of dollars. Airlines have to fill their seats and will usually give away seats for cheap at the very end if that means it'll fill the seats on the airplane. Keep a bag packed.. who knows you might be up for an adventure this weekend!

  5. Step 5

When you're on a plane and aren't in a hurry to get to the location, if the plane is asking for volunteers to get off the plane, don't hesitate. you can often be compensated for your time and be given a free place to sleep sometimes. Some people get a free round trip out of something like this and some people get hundreds of dollars for allowing somebody else on the plane in their spot.

  6. Step 6

Write an airline if you have a problem with something that happened on a plane because sometimes when you have a problem, they try to compensate for it. Remember the customer is always right.
