Caring for a goldfish is the most easiest pet to care for. These three steps will guide you on how to care for your gold fish.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Gold Fish
  • 32 Gal Tank Aquarian with Light
  • gallon jug of spring water
  • Filter for Aquarium
  • Filter for Aquarian Tank
  1. Step 1

Purchase your pet gold fish from a pet store making sure that you select the one that is swimming the lively around the aquarium. While at the pet store, purchase everything you will need to care for your pet fish. Purchase a 32 gal. tank aquarium, a supply of filters, a filter if the aquarium did not come with one, gallon of spring water and fish flakes, and rock crystals.

  2. Step 2

Make sure that the spring water is room temperature and not to cold that would be detrimental to the fish. Attach the filter to the tank and fill the tank with the spring water. You may put the rock crystals down before the water is poured. Pour the fish from the plastic bag of water into the aquarium being careful to be gentle. Add a few flakes, maybe 7 or 9 to the tank of water with the goldfish.

  3. Step 3

For the gold fish to have longevity, you must not over feed the fish. Do not ever load the top of the aquarium with flakes of fish food. Physically count about 7 or 9 flakes and drop them into the aquarium.
Feed the fish only twice a day and try to feed the fish at the same time of the day. Keep the aquarium clean although frequent washing of the aquarium is not necessary. Do not ever use any type of soap to clean the aquarium. Soap is a chemical and the fish does not like chemicals. Use a paper towel or white wash cloth so that the colors will not run. Your goldfish will love you for taking such great care of it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not use disinfectants or spray can air fresheners around the fish aquarium. Do not use any cleaning chemicals to clean the aquarium. Do not let the aquarium get stained and use the appropriate cloth. Believe it or not fish are not bothered when the water is green and feeds on the algae. However it is best to keep a clean tank so that the fish can easily breathe.
  • No cleaning chemicals around the fish aquarium. Use a fish net with a small handle to move the fish to a smaller aquarium between cleanings.
