Sahaja Yoga is a method of meditation quite different than other Yoga techniques. As the founder of the Sahaja Yoga organization Shri Mataji has said "Sahaja Yoga is different from other Yoga's because it begins with self realization."
Once this happens the awakening of the Kundalini takes place and helps us remember and go back to the joyful state that we were in as a child.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Comfortable clothes
  • Candle
  • Picture of Shri Mataji
  1. Step 1
    Position Chart

    Position Chart

Choose a quiet comfortable environment to start the Sahaja Yoga practice. It could be your apartment or outdoors on the beach or the lawn. Sit on the floor assuming the position shown on chart, with your hands on your knees facing the ceiling.
Study the chart to know where to put your hand during meditation. Remember the right hand is used throughout the exercise (switching hands in the middle is a common mistake)
Look at Shri Mataji's picture for a while to relax.

  2. Step 2

    Close your eyes.
*Put your right hand on your heart. Ask yourself "Am I the pure spirit?"
    * Move your hand below your ribs and as yourself "Am I my own master?"
    * Move your hand further down and ask "May I please have child like joy?"
    * Move your hand towards your neck and repeat from within sixteen times "I am not guilty" Do not think of anything in specific while repeating this.
    * Place your hand on your forehead and repeat from within "I forgive everyone including myself" Do forgive while repeating this.
    * Place your hand on the back of your head and repeat "God please forgive me for all that I may have done wrong."
    * Place your hand on top of your head where the fontanel bone is and move it seven times, clockwise with the skin repeating each time "May I please have my realization."

  3. Step 3

    * After having completed this put your right hand on your knee facing the ceiling and put your left hand 2 inches above your head. Check if you feel any kind of vibration.
    * Switch hands and repeat
    * If you do feel vibrations your Kundalini has been awakened by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi and you can easily achieve the state of thoughtless awareness.
