Find the inmate you are seeking with Ohio's DRC database.

If you have been the victim of a crime in the state of Ohio or if you are trying to locate a friend or family member who is incarcerated, you can use the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction's (DRC) database to search for the person. There are many kinds of information you can use to help you locate the person, so if you are unsure of one type of information there may be another that will help you in your search.

Instructions

Search by name. You can enter search terms that include the first and last name of the person you are seeking. If you only know the person's last name, you can search using the last name only. The database will return results that include longer names that involve the last name you enter (ie: Perkins and Perkinson), so if you are not sure of the last name enter the data you have.

Search by offender number. If you know the person's offender number, you can search using this information. Enter the number without hyphens, and remember offender numbers are only six digits.

    • 3

Search by county of residence or commitment. If you know which county the person you are looking for was sentenced in, you can search with this information. If you know which county the person was a resident of before incarceration, you can search using this information.

View your results. Your search terms will return a list of inmates that match your terms. You will be able to view the inmates' pictures, and see information about their crimes and current status (in custody or under supervision).

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are a victim of a crime in the state of Ohio, you can fill out the Victim Notification Form, and receive information about a specific inmate's parole hearings, death, escape or pending execution.

  • The database links to a site providing information about Registered Sex Offenders in the state of Ohio.

  • If the person you are looking for has escaped from custody, you can search under "Violators at Large."

  • The Ohio DRC database only provides information about people who are currently incarcerated, are currently under supervision or are currently at large.
