How to Jump Higher on a Fingerboard
If you feel like you are not able to jump high enough with your fingerboard, it might not be your fault. It could just be your board. Most of the best fingerboarders use a trick to make their fingerboards get better height. By taking a few minutes to follow these instructions you can personally modify your own fingerboard or tech deck and instantly double your ollie height.
Things You'll Need
- Tech deck with the trucks and wheels detached Lighter Solid flat surface Freezer
Instructions
-
-
1
Remove the trucks from the board.
-
2
Heat one end of the board with the lighter until it becomes soft enough to bend.
-
-
3
Press the heated end of the board against a flat surface and apply pressure until the tail of the board curves upward slightly. Continue bending the tail in this manner until the angle of the tail's curve is increased by approximately 50 percent.
-
4
Repeat with the other end of the board.
-
5
Place the board in the freezer for 1 to 2 minutes. This allows the board to cool and solidifies the changes.

Tips & Warnings
Don't bend the tail too much at first. It is always easier to go back and bend it more than it is to decrease the curve once you've already bent it.
Modifying the board may cause some distortion of the fingerboard's graphic.
