2. If Step 1 does not work, and you are willing to pay a nominal fee for the information, try Publicbackgroundsearch.com (second link below). Searching for a single name costs only $1.95.

3. If the individual you are searching for is still hard to find, you might want to try Government-records (third link below). This will be more expensive--you'll have to pay for a year's membership, which will be at least $19.95. But chances are, you'll be successful.

Tips & Warnings

• If you sign up for a paid membership with a database, be certain to read the fine print carefully. It's likely that you'll be set up by default to have the membership renew automatically unless you specify otherwise. Be aware that the home pages of some databases feature talking animation.
