Go to www.hp.com. Click "Drivers and Support" located at the top of the webpage. This page will lead you to a series of steps. Step 1 will appear and give you two options. Click "Download Drivers and Software (and Firmware)."

Enter "HP Scanner Jet 3300C" in the dialog box when the next step asks for the Product Name/Number. The next page will display the generated search results for the actual driver. Locate the driver in the search results and click the listed link. The next page will ask for your operating system. Answer accordingly to ensure you are installing the driver comparable to your computer.

Click the link entitled "Driver," which should be the first link listed on the next page. All you will need for this particular driver link is the USB adapter. On the next screen, click "Install Now" to begin the installation process. The pop-up box that will appear will generate a flashing blue ActiveX taskbar link at the top of the box. Click on the box. When the drop box appears, click "Install ActiveX."

Click "Continue" to proceed with the installation. Immediately after, the download will start automatically. When the download is complete, your InstallShield Wizard will appear. Follow its instructions accordingly to complete the final steps.

Plug the USB adapter into one of your USB hub ports. Plug the cord into the scanner and computer in order for the computer to discover the actual hardware. When the discovery is successful, an indication screen will appear and inform you that the installation is complete. Click "Finish" to close the installation.

Tips & Warnings
Always download your drivers in order to keep the setup file on your computer in case you need it for future reference or re-installation. Place setup files and downloads in an organized folder to maintain easy access to the locations and properties of these files. Do not alter the file names because they all correspond with the actual driver download description.
Do not plug the adapter in until you are prompted to. This can cause an incomplete installation and create a problem with installing the hardware correctly when you begin the software download. Only plug the USB adapter into one port to avoid installing the hardware on multiple ports. This can cause confusion with your operating system.
