1
Measure the distance between the water supply shutoff valve that is near the floor at the rear of the toilet and the connection at the bottom of the toilet to ensure you have the correct length of water supply line.
-
2
Wrap each threaded end with a 6-inch piece of Teflon plumber's tape.
-
-
3
Screw one end of the water supply line onto the open end of the water supply shutoff valve; tighten snugly with the wrench. Do not over tighten.
-
4
Pull the line up to the bottom of the toilet; if the line is flexible make sure there are no kinks or bends that can obstruct the water flow. Screw the water line onto the opening in the bottom of the toilet; tighten snugly with the wrench. Do not over tighten.
-
5
Turn on the water shutoff valve until you meet with resistance. You will hear the toilet beginning to fill.
-
6
Check the upper and lower connections for leaks; tighten accordingly if one has a drip of water seeping out.

Tips & Warnings
Always purchase a new water supply line when installing a toilet, as the old line will usually have some unseen wear or corrosion. This will save you from a potential future leak.
